THE MASSACHUSETTS GAZETTE, Boston, May 22, 1787

The front page has a great report datelines: "Philadelphia, May 9" beginning:"....that at  the  time approaches for opening the business of the Federal Convention, it is natural that every lover of his country should experience some anxiety for the fate of an expedient so necessary and so precarious..." with more on thoughts about the Constitutional Convention, which would begin just 3 days after the publication of this newspaper. The ftpg. also has a report concerning John Adams' "Defence of American Constitutions" (see).
Page 3 has a report noting: "...we are informed that Shays, Dan, Wheeler and Parsons (principals in the late rebellion in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts) were at Crown point...collecting all the force they could...he heard Shays and Day declare that they were then going into those parts of  this  state and Vermont...were only waiting for their presence to commence immediate hostilities..." with more (see). Also a letter from Fort Pitt concerning Indians.
Four pages, great condition.
