CONNECTICUT JOURNAL, New Haven, Dec. 14, 1796  Most of page 2 and a bit of page 3 are taken up with the historic last state-of-the-union address of President George Washington, addressed to: "Fellow Citizens of the Senate, and the House of Representatives" and ending with his signature in type: Go. Washington (see). In this address Washington reflects both upon the accomplishments of the year and of his pending retirement.
Complete in 4 pages, this issue has some wear loss which has been archivally repaired which causes loss or partial loss to about 16 words in half a column of Washington's Address. The other 3 columns of Washington's Address are unaffected. Archivally repaired at the spine as well. Untrimmed margins.
