THE DETROIT FREE PRESS, August 31, 1945

* Omori prisoner-of-war-camp
* Inhuman atrocities - tortures
* "Unbroken" Louis Zamperini fame

The front page has a six column headline: "Liberated Yanks Tell of Jap Torture" with caption. (see) Coverage on the liberation of Omori prisoner of war camp in Japan. This was the same POW camp featured in the blockbuster movie "Unbroken" which told the story of Olympic athlete Louis Zamperini.  A back page photo shows many American soldiers celebrating freedom from the infamous camp.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 24 pages, light toning and minor wear at the margins, generally nice.
