A racist newspaper which existed before, during, and after the Civil War. The motto in the masthead: "The Republic of Washington and Jackson--A Union of Co-Equal States, And A White Citizenship." Among the articles: "White & Black--How Divided" "The 'Colored Cadet' " "Woman Suffrage" "The Word 'White' in New Jersey" "Death of To Garrett, the 'Slave Stealer' ".
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed, tears at margins.
