BOSTON DAILY ADVERTISER, Aug. 7, 1815

* Battle of Waterloo - Belgium
* Napoleon I vs. Duke of Wellington

Page 2 begins with a: "Declaration to the French People - Frenchmen!" signed by: Napoleon, from just after his defeat at Waterloo. It mentions in part: "...My political life is ended; and I proclaim my son, under the title of Napoleon II, Emperor of the French...". Pg. 2 also has a report headed: "French Account of the Battle" of Waterloo. Also a report noting: "...The Paris papers of that day contain Bonaparte's act of abdication. In this instrument he acknowledges that for want of the co-operation of all the efforts of the nation, he is unable to maintain its independence. He declares his political life ended...Of Bonaparte, except his abdication, we learn little. The great battle, in which he lost his army, ended on the morning of the 19th...". Another account is headed: "Bonaparte Has No Longer an Army!!" Also other accounts relating to the Battle of Waterloo.
Four pages, some light dirtiness & light foxing, generally good.
