The ftpg. has an article headed: "Sandwich Islands" which is Hawaii, beginning: "One of the most interesting events of the day is the renunciation of the worship of idols by the inhabitants of the Sandwich Islands, occasioned unquestionably by their intercourse with the American & other Christian nations...". This includes a letter signed by: King Tamoree, in which he states in part: "...I believe that my idols are good for nothing; & that your God is the only true God..." (see).
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, nice condition.
