The top of the front page has nice reporting on the James Meredith case, his admission to the University of Mississippi being contentious on the grounds of his race. This was a landmark case in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960's. The top of the page has: "Army Engineers Stand By To Support U.S. Marshals" and: "Further Moves Expected In Mississippi Case" with a front page photo showing: "Negro James Meredith is refused permission for a third time to enter the University of Mississippi as Lt. Gov. Paul Johnson, backed by patrolmen, confronts him...". The ftpg. also has: "Defiance Of Federal Court 'Indefensible', Says Ike" which begins: "Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower says federal laws must be enforced to admit Negro James E. Meredith as a student to the University of Mississippi...".
Ten pages, very nice condition.
