July 15, 1865

NEW YORK WEEKLY DAY-BOOK CAUCASIAN, New York, July 15, 1865

* Abraham Lincoln assassination
* Execution of the conspirators
* Mary Surratt & more

This was a racist newspaper of the day, a back page ad headed: "The White Man's Paper..." with further detail. The top of the ftpg. has: "EXECUTION of the Alleged Conspirators" "Hanging of Payne, Harrold, Atzerodt, and Mrs. Surratt". The detailed text takes over half of the front page.
Inside has: "Shall Liberty Be Restored in the South? " "The Executions of the Military Commission" "A White Main's Candidate" "The Fate of Mrs. Surratt" "The Extinction of the Negroes" and much more.
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed so it folds out to one large sheet. minor foxing, printing creases near the top affect letters but not readability, some margin wear.
