March 11, 1746

EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, March 11, 1746  The ftpg. has: " 'Tis reported the French are preparing to make an attempt upon New-England." The ftpg. also has a nice letter concerning he Jacobite Rebellion addressed to the King, including: "...deeply sensible of the madness of our countrymen, by whom a wicked & unnatural rebellion has been chiefly fomented & carried on against the best of Sovereigns...express our thankfulness to your Majesty for sending down among us his Royal Highness the Duke of Cumberland...congratulate the success...under his command, over the Pretender's Son and his detestable followers..." with more.
Most of page 2 is taken up with additional reports relating to the on-going Jacobite Rebellion (see), and great to have in a Scottish newspaper.
Four pages, 8 by 10 inches, great condition.
