As noted in the masthead this was the: "Gazette of The Regular & Volunteer Forces" and as such is replete with military news of all sorts. The entire ftpg. is taken up with: "The Campaign In Virginia" and "The Shenandoah Valley". Other reports inside include: The Status of Negro Soldiers" "The Operations in Mobile Bay" includes a rather and very nice one column diagram of the naval operation (see); "From the Fleet Off Galveston"; there are military letters signed in type by: U. S. Grant and: W. T. Sherman and George McClellan; "Jonesboro' and Chickamauga" and so much more.
Sixteen pages, 10 by 14 1/2 inches, somewhat irregular at the spine and other margins but with no text loss, browning at edges.
