THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Dec. 23, 1766 

* Stamp Act riots in America

Under "America" on an inside page is a report from Providence stating in part that "...the Agent...informed them, that he had applied to the...Treasury for payment of the money due to the Colony...as a reimbursement for their services during the late war; but was told...that as there had been dangerous riots in the Colonies, on account of the Stamp-Act, in which several persons and their property were destroyed, they determined to retain the money...till ample compensation should be made to the sufferers."
Eight pages, 8 by 11 inches, nice condition.
