This issue announces the: "Probable Batting Order" for what will be the final game of the infamous 1919 Major League Baseball World Series, perhaps the most controversial ever, called the "Black Sox" series due to the betting scandal involving several of the Chicago White Sox players (see hyperlink for more details). Better coverage is on the sports page which has a banner head: "Kid Gleason Isn't Kicking About Any Of Those Breaks Now" (manager of the Chicago White Sox), with photos of Eller, Williams, and Luaque, along with a chart of: Total Runs Scored By Innings in Seven Games of Series", and an article: "Red Counted Their World Series Money Too Soon, Says Turbyville" and "Chisox Would Have To Smash All Precedents To Grab Series Now".
Game 8--the last--would be played that day & be won by Cincinnati.
