SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE - Final Election Extra, California, June 6, 1956  (outer leaves only)

* Blacks in Montgomery, Alabama are victorious!
* Adlai Stevenson wins party nomination

The front page has the huge banner heading: "ADLAI VICTORY", which tells of Adlai Stevenson II being selected as the Democratic presidential nominee. He would eventually go on to lose to Eisenhower - which would mark his last attempt at the presidency. Perhaps more significant is the small one column heading: "Negroes Win Bus Ruling In Alabama", which tells of the Federal Court ruling that "segregation on Montgomery buses is unconstitutional, and thus vindicated 30,000 Negroes for their six-month transit boycott." In both instances, some of the coverage continues on to inside pages which are not present, but the front page is suitable for framing.
An incomplete issue (outer leaves only), with an archival mend to the left lower corner (see images).
