Page 2 has: "Intelligence From the West" which is a terrific & very descriptive letter datelined "Fort Wayne" and introduced as: "...a very interesting letter from Henry R. Schoolcraft...now traversing the immense region lying between Detroit and the Mississippi, south of his former route...". The letter takes close to 2 columns and is a great peace on early Western exploration (see for portions). Schoolcraft was a noted geographer & ethnologist (see Wikipedia).
Four pages, two very small archival mends, very nice condition.
