THE BRISTOL JOURNAL, England, June 7, 1777 

* Rare British title

Inside has some content on the Revolutionary War as well as a brief bit on the ftpg. as well. Included are a letter from Morristown which has: "...News! glorious news! Last Tuesday a large ship arrived at Portsmouth...on board 1000 barrels of powder, 12,000 stand of arms, a complete set of cannon...These gentlemen come well recommended by Dr. Franklin..." and more. Also reports from General Howe's army include: "...the 3000 Americans called Loyalists, or Tories, under the command of Gov. Tryon...to destroy some magazines which the provincials had collected there. A skirmish had happened in Jersey between a party of Lord Cornwallis's troops who were foraging, and a party of General Washington's troops...Lord Howe had sent 3 frigates into the river Delaware..." and more. Good talk in the House of Lords which includes mention mention of the situation in America (see for bits).
Four pages, tape at the spine, good condition.
