THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, October 7, 1777

Near the back is a report which begins: "A letter from New York says, 'It is now certain that Gen. Howe did not intend landing his troops at either Philadelphia or Boston, but only designed his expedition as a feint to draw the attention of the rebel army to these places, while Gen. Burgoyne had advanced into the country by Hudson's river & then to return to New York...". The back page has an item noting: "...a tender arrived at New York from Chesapeak bay on the 28th...that Gen. Howe had landed the 16th at Baltimore & proceeded to the hulk about 40 miles from Philadelphia where General Washington's army was encamped..." with more war reports including: "...that Gen. Sullivan had landed on Staten Island with 4000 men...Gen. Burgoyne had got below Albany, & Gen. Clinton was going up the north river...the Howes were within 40 miles of the city..." plus more (see).
Complete in 8 pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, excellent condition.
