NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Maryland, September 23,1820
* The Missouri Constitution
* Chart showing number of students at Harvard

Within this issue is the complete printing of the: "Constitution of Missouri" which takes nearly 9 pages. This is a significant printing, as there was much slavery-related controversy on allowing Missouri to join the union, and this printing is from the year Missouri became a state.
One portion of the constitution includes: "The general assembly shall have no power to pass laws for the Emancipation of slaves without the consent of their owners..." with more (see for portions).
The constitution is signed in type by the president of the convention: David Barton.
Among other reports in this issue are:
* "Prices of Bank Notes at Baltimore"
* "Foreign Articles"
* A small chart noting the number of students at Harvard University

Complete in 16 pages, measures about 6 by 9 1/2 inches, and in very nice condition.

This small size newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia: "Niles edited and published the Weekly Register until 1836, making it into one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States and himself into one of the most influential journalists of his day. Devoted primarily to politics, Niles' Weekly Register is considered an important source for the history of the period."
