July 10, 1777

LONDON CHRONICLE, July 10, 1777  On an inside page under "London" is news from New York which includes: "...They...mention, that the Congress and Committees continue to commit the greatest cruelties upon those people they call Tories, and who do not join in the rebellion...".
Immediately following is an extract of a letter has details about an attack by Lord Cornwallis upon 10,000 Provincials "...whom they had much worsted...", plus mention that: "...our troops were marching to attack Philadelphia."
There is also word that: "...a very considerable body of the rebel army, commanded by Arnold and Sullivan...got in the rear of our reserve, had obliged Lord Cornwallis to alter his front...".
Complete in 8 pgs., never bound nor trimmed, a bit of ftpg. foxing, 9 1/4  by 12 inches, great condition.
