THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Dec. 2, 1760  Page 2 has nearly a full column, historic report concerning the capitulation of Montreal to the British under the heading: "America". It includes: "...arrived here Major M'Lean from General Amherst at Montreal...with expresses containing a full confirmation & account of the surrender of the French army, the town of Montreal, and all Canada. At break of day the capitulation was signed..." with an order of the soldiers formally marching into town (see). Included also is a formal "General Orders" document from the "camp before Montreal, Sept. 9, 1760" which includes: "The General sees, with infinite pleasure, the success that has crowned the indefatigable efforts of his Majesty's troops & faithful subjects in America. The Marquis de Vaudreille has capitulated; the troops of France in Canada have laid down their arms...the whole country submits to the dominion of Great Britain..." with more (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
