FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED, New York, Oct. 17, 1885 The full ftpg. shows: "John Cardinal McCloskey, Archbishop of New York, Died Oct. 10, 1885". Over half a page inside has 4 prints of: "Progress of the Work on the Statue of 'Liberty' On Bedloe's Island". The doublepg. centerfold shows: "New York--The Removal of the Hell Gate Obstructions to Navigation in the East River...". Other prints as well.
Sixteen pages, damage to the back leaf (mostly advertising), otherwise nice condition.
