CHICAGO WEEKLY JOURNAL, Illinois, March 19, 1849 I believe this to be the earliest Chicago newspaper we have offered. Although the significance of this issue is the rarity of the early date, it also has content: "The Cabinet of Gen. Taylor" "The California Fever In Hornby" is concerning the Gold Rush; "Later From the Pacific" and more.
Four pages, large folio size, never bound nor trimmed, several folds, nice condition.
