Page 2 has an item: "We are told that the papers of his Excellency John Adams, esq., our late ambassador at the court of London, have arrived in town & that his Excellency's arrival may be soon expected." Page 3 has a report from Fredericksburg that: "Monday, the 11th ins. being the anniversary of his Excellency General Washington, the auspicious morning was ushered in with a federal salute of 13 guns...The following toasts were given under the discharge of three guns each..." with a list of the 13 toasts, the last being: "May the independence of America be acknowledged not only by all earthly powers but may it be ratified in Heaven."
