September 03, 1774
THE LONDON CHRONICLE, Sept. 3, 1774 Page 2 has an interesting item concerning the legal reason for allowing Parliament the power of taxation (see). Over half of a page is taken up with: "Genuine Account of Omiah, a Native of Otaheite [Tahiti], a new discovered Island in the South Seas...".
Another page has: "...letter from...Virginia...'Your Parliament will not let us pay any body as Freemen; and as Slaves, nothing is our own; therefore we have nothing to pay our debts with."
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, red tax stamp on page 2, nice condition.
