PENNSYLVANIA PACKET, Philadelphia, Sept. 14, 1782 The front page has a full column--which continues to take almost all of page 4--headed: "American Independence, House of Lords, July 10, 1782". The report covers the discussion in Parliament concerning creating a peace with America. A few bits include: "...were to direct their aim, was, to make peace with America at any rate. When he said at any rate, he did not mean that this country was to make any mean, humiliating or improper concessions, but he would say fairly & openly that the independence of America was not to stand in the way of any treaty...." with much, much more, and near the end: "...Enough mischief has been done already by the fatal system of war in America: and he hoped never to see the day when that system should again be pursued...".
Page 2 also has reports from the House of Commons which consider the situation with peace with America.
Four pages, minor wear at the margins, generally good.
