December 17, 1859

FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED NEWSPAPER, New York, Dec. 17, 1859  The front page has a print of: "John Brown Ascending the Scaffold Preparatory to Being Hanged" as well as a smaller print of: "John Brown's Last Interview with His Wife in the Jail". There is also an article: "The Harper's Ferry Insurrection".
Inside has a full page: "Mrs. Brown Escorted from Harper's Ferry to the Jil at Charlestown to Have an Interview with Her Husband the Day Before He Was Hanged" and another fullpg: "Execution of John Brown--Scene in Front of the Jail When Brown was Brought Out to be Conveyed in a Furniture Wagon to the Place of Execution", plus a half pg: "John Brown Riding on His Coffin to the Place of Execution".
Also a half page: "Burial of Washington Irving in His Family Lot...Near Tarrytown" & "Funeral of Washington Irving..." and also a print of him: "The Late Washington Irving, Historian".
Complete in 16 pages, never bound nor trimmed so it folds out to one large sheet, very nice, clean condition.
