April 20, 1799

COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, April 20, 1799  A page 2 report from "Pennsylvania" has reporting on the Fries Rebellion: "We have received...letters from the army under Gen. Macpherson. They assure of the almost extinction of anything like insurrection. Rebellion hath had ill luck. John Fries, John Everhard, Jacob Huber, and others, to the number of 14, have been taken and are under imprisonment for treason....About 20 others, who were abetters...but whose crimes are less murky, have also surrendered...and are in confinement."
Four pages, small piece from spine of the front leaf affects a few inconsequential words, very nice condition.
