THE NEW YORK TIMES, Sept. 16, 1872  The top of page 4 has a political notice supporting: "Regular Republican Nominations - For President, ULYSSES S. GRANT, of Illinois - For Vice President, HENRY WILSON, of Massachusetts" beneath which are two quotes by Horace Greeley, the first of which is: "Gen. Grant never has been defeated, and he never will be." (see).
Other news of the day throughout. Complete in 8 pages, close-trimmed at the bottom margin causing loss to the last line, good condition.
