THE EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, Nov. 18, 1775 Two-thirds of the front page is taken up with reports from "London" and which includes various talk of the situation in America. One bit notes: "...We are assured that conciliatory measures with the Americans are absolutely agreed on in the Cabinet...and that Lord Howe is to go out with full powers to put them in execution...." and: "...the noble Duke might have spared himself the trouble of dilating on the impracticability of conquering America as it was not the conquest, but the allegiance of the colonies, which administration were desirous of obtaining..." with more.
Page 2 has a letter from Virginia which includes: "The people of this colony are proceeding in the most violent & unjustifiable manner. Every person who refuses to join their independent companies & support the cause, as they term it, is sure to be personally insulted & abused..." with more (see).
There are a few other small references to America scattered throughout. Four pages, minor loss at the right margin, archival repair at the central fold, folio size, minor margin tears.
