THE EDINBURGH ADVERTISER, Scotland, April 10, 1781 Page 3 has a letter from New York with an interesting report: "Three men in New Jersey were apprehended & tried for trading with the people within the British lines of New York. the trial was before a kind of jury consisting of 6 men with a Major at their head. the culprits were convicted..." but then read what happened next! (see). Also a note from Paris: "...that Dr. Franklin has paid off all his tradesmen's bills & was preparing to depart from that city...to take him to America."
Page 5 has: "...from New York...Cornwallis had marched through Carolina, crossed Roanoak, arrived in Virginia, chasing before him Green, Sumpter, and Morgan & was within 15 miles of Petersburgh. Arnold detached 500 men...From the above very important intelligence...it may be reasonably concluded that the southern colonies will be in his Majesty's peace this summer." (see)
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/4 inches, very nice condition.
