April 25, 1863

DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Richmond, Virginia, April 25, 1863  A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederate States of America. The front page includes: "From Suffolk", "How The Reverse At Charleston Was Received in New York--Gloomy Forebodings of The War", "Resources Of Our Southern Fields & Forests", "From Fredericksburg", "City Intelligencer" and other smaller items.
The back page includes the always interesting editorial, this one noting in part: "Although the whole story of the offensive movements lately attempted by Generals D. H. Hill and Longstreet is not yet known, enough has transpired to create considerable disappointment and some mortification..." with more (see photos). Also: "Card From General Pryor", "To the People of the 8th Congressional District...", "Telegraphic News", "Confederate Congress" and other items, including ads.
Single sheet, never bound nor trimmed, in very nice, clean condition.
