THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Feb. 26, 1780 Inside has a report noting in part: "...At Rhode Island the noble Admiral adopted the new mode of manoeuvring with d'Estaign, instead of fighting him: & took care if he should come up to keep his own person out off danger...After two days searching he found it all safe at Sandy Hook, while the French ships just by were dismasted, disruddered, or otherwise disabled by the storm..." signed in type: Americanus (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
