THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Feb. 20, 1777  Page 2 includes: "...that great harmony happily subsisted at Newport...when Capt. Wallace came away; that the climate agrees well with the troops...second in command of the Hessian Generals fell in the late ambuscade by bravely heading the 300 men who heroically cut their way through the whole body of the provincial forces." with some additional items.
Another page has a poem: "A Dream in the American Stile" (see photos). And another report  notes the capture of General Lee by the British: "...copy of a letter sent by General Lee after he was taken by Colonel Harcourt...the amazing alertness of Colonel Harcourt & the paltronry of my guard have thrown me into the hands of your army, whatever may be my fate I hope to sustain it with fortitude..." (see). A bit more on General Lee is on the back page with: "...Yesterday Gen. Lee & col. Robert Livinstone were brought to town from the Jerseys...taken in the house of capt. Richards, about a mile from Trentown [Trenton]...went this morning...to see my relation poor Livinstone but he made my heart ache to see him weep & lament...Gen. Lee advised him to keep his hands clear of it as it was only a trick to kidnap people." (see).
