Page 3 has a small item: "California" which notes: "...a letter...from California...all who are doing well to stay where they are; though fortunes can & will be made there, not by picking gold out with a jackknife in 4 or 5 pound lumps, but with much __ and hard labor..." (see photos). The back page has an interesting article: "Churches in California" which begins: "We cannot doubt that the rush to California will be the means of setting that country with a large population. For, of the immense number who go there for gold..." & more (see photos).

Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, various wear at folds with a few small tears, generally good.
