LUCIFER, THE LIGHT-BEARER, Chicago, May 29, 1896

* Sexology Science

A rather unusual title, an explanation of this newspaper's name appears on pg. 2 stating, in part: "The name Lucifer means Light-Bringing or Light-Bearing and the paper that has adopted this name stands For Light against Darkness, For Reason against Superstition, For Science against Tradition...", plus mention that:  "Lucifer's specialty is Sexology, or Sexological Science, believing this to be the Most Important of all Sciences..."  (see photos).
Has topical reports, commentary and ads. Some of the articles include: "The Crime of the 'Society for the Prevention of Crime' " "Liberty & Companionship" "Good Enough for Art, Not for Fashion" "Lincoln Not an Ascetic" and more. Also has an engraving in the masthead.

Complete in four pages, measures 20 by 13 inches, some minor margin tears, a bit of lite fold foxing on the front page, but otherwise in good condition.
