THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, August 25, 1774 Page 2 has a letter from Pittsburgh concerning Indians & more (see), followed by a letter from Carlisle, Pennsylvania relating to the same trouble and the events around Fort Pitt, including: "...We hear from Virginia that a large body of men are going out against the Indians by order of government; the rendezvous to be at the mouth of Great Kaubawa River & there to build forts & fortify themselves..." (see).
Another page has a letter from Virginia which begins: "Associations are forming here not to import an commodities form Great Britain, nor to export any of their own till the Boston Port Act is repealed..." with more. This is followed by a letter from New York, and also a report noting: "...The twenty-seven chests of tea lately arrived at Portsmouth in New Hampshire & landed there, were re-shipped..." (see).
The back page has a patriotic letter from New York to Edinburgh which notes: "You have sent a number of troops in hostile array against us, intending...to frighten us to comply with those measures which your Ministry propose...America will not enjoy the emoluments of slavery, nor suffer a military power to retail the mandates of government to her. We have yet one shift left us, to die gloriously with the sword in our hand and our face to our foes..." with more. A great letter (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, red tax stamp on page 4, great condition.
