INDEPENDENT CHRONICLE, Boston, Massachusetts,  August 3, 1815

* Battle of Waterloo... War of 1812...
* Arthur Wellesley
* Napoleon Bonaparte

The top of the front page has a nice and terrific account on the famous Battle of Waterloo in which the British defeated Napoleon Bonaparte, being text from the famous "London Gazette Extraordinary' issue of June 22. The text is the personal report of Duke of Wellington and is signed by him in type: Wellington. This is followed by the list of "British Killed & Wounded". Plus the reporting doesn't stop here, as there are additional reports and editorial comments on page 2 as well.

The defeat at Waterloo put an end to Napoleon's rule as the French emperor, and marked the end of Napoleon's Hundred Days of return from exile.

A great issue on this very famous European battle, with fully half of the front page and part of page 2 taken up on the report. Four pages, a small piece of paper attached above the masthead, very nice condition.
