Page 6 has a report which notes: "...a great number of the inhabitants of the province of Pennsylvania beset the fort at Wyoming on the Susquehannah, in the night, while the people in the fort were asleep, cut & wounded many of them took possession of the garrison & drove out the Connecticut Settlers, but that no lives were lost"
But certainly the most significant content in this issue is the page 7 report headed: "Some Account of the Trial of Capt. Preston, in a Letter from Boston (New England) dated Nov. 2, 1770" In this report is the determination of the trial of Capt. Preston for his leadership in the Boston Massacre, the text including: "...when the Jury returned their verdict, finding him Not Guilty. He was immediately discharged & is now at the castle..." with more.
The lengthy report--taking over one-third of the page--concludes with: "...After the Jury returned their verdict not guilty, Judge Trowbridge asked the jury if any of them had the least doubt in their minds whether Capt. Preston did, or did not, give order to fire? He was answered, No; not the smallest doubt of his innocence." (see)
Complete in 8 pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches, great condition.
