HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, December 17, 1870  A full page of illustration & text shows 5 scenes in the construction of the foundation of the Brooklyn Bridge (The East River Bridge). Early illustration on this famous bridge, completed in 1883.  The frontpage is a full illustration "Americans Leaving Paris". Full page illustrations are entitled "In The Trenches" which has an accompanying poem and "Victory". "The Pigeon Post" includes three small illustrations. Halfpage illustration "Blooming Grove Park - The American Fontainebleau" and a slightly smaller halfpage "Parisians Waiting to Procure Ration Tickets".  A Thomas Nast political cartoon is on the backpage.
Complete in 16 pages and contains additional prints and related text.
