* Atchison, Kansas bank robbery
* Bonnie and Clyde involved ?
* Rare mention of "cigar smoking" woman
The top of page 13 has a one column heading: "ROB KANSAS BANKS, SHOOT POLICE OFFICER" with subheads. (see) First report coverage on a bank robbery in Atchison, Kansas. At the time it was believed that criminals involved were the infamous Bonnie and Clyde as the article ends with: "Unverified reports that a woman puffing a cigar has been seen in a hotel here this morning, led to a police theory that the leader of the hold-up might have been Clyde Barrow, notorious bank robber and killer, whose companion is Bonnie Parker, cigar-smoking gunwoman". History shows it was not the work of this famous duo, but still rare to find reports mentioning them as such.
Complete in 42 pages, light toning, a few small archival mends in unrelated areas, a little spine wear, generally good.
