1912 attempted assassination of Theaodore Roosevelt...

Item # 706285

October 17, 1912

THE GREENSBORO PATRIOT (weekly), North Carolina, Oct. 17, 1912

* President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt
* Attempted  assassination attempt by shooting
* Campaigning event for the presidency

The top of page 6 has a small one column heading: "Theodore Roosevelt Shot" with subhead. (see images) Ironic this happened in Milwaukee, the location of the 2024 Republican Convention with President Donald J. Trump.
Complete with 12 pages, light toning, a little margin wear, should be handled with care.

wikipedia notes: On October 14, 1912, former saloonkeeper John Schrank attempted to assassinate former U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt while he was campaigning for the presidency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Schrank's bullet lodged in Roosevelt's chest after penetrating Roosevelt's steel eyeglass case and passing through a 50 page thick (single-folded) copy of his speech titled "Progressive Cause Greater Than Any Individual", which he was carrying in his jacket pocket.
