The front page has a action photo of soccer great Pele with heading: "See Pele Run" Starting on page 17 is an editorial by Clark Whelton on the sport of soccer gaining popularity in America with the help of Brazilian soccer great Pele. Text continues on the following page. Included are 6 related photos, two showing Pele.
I suspect this to be an extremely rare item because their was really no reason to save it at the time.
As most might be aware "The Village Voice" was an American news and culture paper, known for being the country's first alternative newsweekly. It introduced free-form, high-spirited, and passionate journalism into the public discourse a tradition it maintained throughout its 60+ year history.
Complete in 96 pages, tabloid-size, folded at the center, small red library stamp on the front page, nice condition.
