December 14, 1796

FEDERAL GAZETTE & BALTIMORE DAILY ADVERTISER, Dec. 14, 1796  A very displayable front page with the various fonts used in the title, and the entire page taken up with ads including 18 illustrated ship ads. Also an ad: "Wanted, A Black Man, Who understands driving a carriage...".
Most of pages 2 & 3 are taken up with the "Speech" of the governor of Penna. signed: Thomas Mifflin. And a: "50 Dollars Reward" ad for a runway: "...negro man named Tobe, about 22 years of age..." with more detail.
The back page has 3 slave-related ads, one with a rather rare mention of the word "slave" noting in part: "Ran Away...a negro slave named Bob, about 5 feet 20 or 11 inches..." with more detail. Also: "For Sale...A Negro Man..." with more.
Four pages, very nice condition.
