The front page has over a column with a report from Congress prefaced with: "The committee appointed to inquire into the causes of the failure of the late expedition under Major-General St. Clair have proceeded to examine all the papers furnished...", this referring to his defeat by an Indian confederation near the Wabash.
Pages 2 and 3 take over a full column headed: "United States Congress" listing the various Acts of Congress which had been approved in their last session. Some are notable, perhaps the most significant: "An act for establishing a mint, and regulating the coins of the United States" which essentially began the monetary system of the U.S.
