THE LONDON CHRONICLE, Jan. 21, 1777 One brief note mentions: "...that a plan of operations for the next campaign in America has been laid before the Privy Council which has been approved of & proper orders will soon be sent for carrying the same into execution." (see)
The back page has an interesting article on the tactics of the colonists during the Revolutionary War, which includes: "...it is not the interest of the Provincials to come to a general engagement but to harass the King's troops by marches & countermarches to cut off their convoys, "...it is not the interest of the Provincials to come to a general engagement but to harass the King's troops by marches & countermarches to cut off their convoys, &, in a word, to protract the war till they shall be openly, as they are now, probably, privately assisted by our natural enemies in Europe..." plus some comments on Fort Washington (see).
