THE LIBERATOR, Boston, Sept. 29, 1865 The famous anti-slavery newspaper by Wm. L. Garrison with the masthead engraving showing slaves being sold, & slaves being liberated.
The back page has: "Frederick Douglass On The Educational Monument Association", which is a letter from him taking nearly a full column, signed in block type, "FREDERICK DOUGLASS". Page 3 has: "Reception Of The Fifty-Fifth Massachusetts Regiment" (in Boston) - the regiment of black soldiers considered to be the "sister regiment" to the Fifty-Fourth Massachusetts. The back page also has excerpts from the John Pierpont poem, "Tribute To Abraham Lincoln", which he read at the Celebration by the Colored People's Educational Monument Association, on July 4, 1865.
