A handsome issue of the 18th century, with two decorative embellishments in the masthead & ornate lettering in the title.
The front page has an illustrated advertisement headed "Cricketing" which must being one of the earliest prints a cricket match to appear in a newspaper.
The ad notes: "A Match for 500 Guineas, between two select Elevens, on Monday next, September 7, at Dandelion near Margate." and the notice lists the players for both teams. Also: "Wickets to be pitched at Eleven o'clock. An Ordinary upon the Green at Dandelion."
Four pages, very nice condition.
