Inside has an article titled: "The Slave Trade" which takes most of a page, noting in part: "A discussion took place...in the British house of lords on the subject of the foreign slave trade...that the trade should be put an end to; but that, with the single exception of the United States of America, they had all failed to carry their engagement into effect..." and with mention of the famed William Wilberforce, a champion for the cause of eliminating slavery.
Another portion mentions: "That we contemplate with far different feelings the conduct of the United States of America. Not only have their cruizers been actively employed in cooperation with our own in suppressing the slave trade on the coast of Africa, but an act has been passed by Congress which places the slave trade in the list of piracies & subjects to capital punishment all citizens of the U.S. who shall be found to engage in it..." with more.
Sixteen pages, 6 by 9 1/2 inches, very nice condition.
As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
