Handsome newspaper... John Hancock...

INDEPENDENT CHRONICLE & THE UNIVERSAL ADVERTISER, Boston, Feb. 14, 1793  As the photo shows, this is one of the more handsome & displayable mastheads of the 18th century.
Page 2 has a report from Philadelphia headed: "New Theatre" with a description of it, and mention that: "...the President of the United States, his Lady and family visited the New Theatre...".
Then report on the famed balloonist Jean Pierre Blanchard concerning his plans for an aerostatical laboratory, with detail.
Page 3 has a report: "Late News' which mentions that: "...have ascertained the following important particulars, That Louis XVI had been Tried, was acquitted, and is at Large...".
Page 3 also has a letter to the Mass. legislature signed by the governor: John Hancock.
Included as well is the single sheet "Supplement to the Independent Chronicle" of the same date, the reverse of which has a report: "Indian Affairs" from Savannah which takes most of a column.
Four pages, small binding holes at the blank spine, wide, never-trimmed margins, nice condition.
