A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy, with war reports from the Confederate perspective. The front page includes: "A Lay Sermon "Traitors In Western Virginia" "Notes Of The War" which includes: "General McClellan Must Advance--Death of General Zollicoffer--How He Was Killed--How His Body Was treated--Arms of the Confederates..." and other smaller items.
Inside pages include: "The Late Raid Up the Tennessee River--The Enemy At Florence--What They Did..." "The War Crisis in Tennessee..." "The Defense of North Carolina" plus most of a column taken up with a editorial. Also: "The Fight at Fort Donelson--Exciting Rumours" "The Law & The Lord-Protector of Ruffianism In Richmond" "Prosecutions Under the Sequestration Act" "Confiscation of Yankee Property--Important Act of Congress" "From Roanoke Island" "Telegraphic News" and other items.
The back page is mostly taken up with various Acts from the Confederate Congress.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, nice condition.
