The front page has advertisements and 3 columns on: "The Northern Congress--The New Treasury Bill--Interesting Debate on the War" carrying over to page. 2.
Page 2 has a very nice editorial in which they examine & discuss the "...four grand objects..." or goals of the Yankees for 1862: "...First in importance among them is the advance upon Richmond from the banks of the Potomac. Next is the descent of the Mississippi with a view to the capture of New Orleans...Next, is the penetration of the interior from the direction of the Kanawha Valley or from Eastern Kentucky...Lastly, is the invasion of North Carolina from the seaboard..." with much more.
Over half of page 2 is taken up with a wide variety of war reports under the heading "The Latest Northern News--Movements & Spirit of the War" with many subheads.
Page 2 has some war-related news as well with: "The Federal Fleet in the Savannah River" "The Burnside Expedition" "The Hampton Sufferers" and various reports from the "Legislature of Virginia" and "Very Latest Northern News".
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, nice condition.
